Two Upcoming Surf Events in the Central Pacific region

Two cool upcoming surf events in the month of November. The first is the 2009 Pura Vida No Pro which is going to be held November 21st at the Pelican Hotel in Esterillos Este. The Pura Vida No Pro began in 2002 when a group of surfers came together to introduce the sport of surfing to a group of kids from the Hosipico de Huerfanos orphanage in San Jose, Costa Rica. Since then the event has turned into an annual gathering of kids, locals and travelling surfers.

New Surfing Association in Jaco Promotes Education!

Upcoming event: New dates !! The Jaco Surfing Association is putting together a contest to promote student/surfers and education. It will have all age groups from grade school thru University competing in their prospective age groups, students will have to bring letters from the school directors or their last grades to be allowed to compete. Prizes will be donated by Local businesses and will range from weekends in Local Hotels –new surfboards – dinners for 2 etc. The contest will be held at the Best Western Jaco Beach.
