Just 15 Minutes North of Surf Inn Hermosa, there is the Neofauna Butterfly and Serpentarium Facility that has a large buttefly garden, a serpentarium and a frog exhibit. Guests can see morpho and tiger butterflies up close, along with many of Costa Rican’s venomous snakes, and 3 different endangered dart frogs and five leaf/tree frogs. Soda Marea Alta is located 5 minutes North of Surf Inn Hermosa on the South end of the Main Avenue Pastor Diaz in Jaco Beach. This is a busy local’s favorite spot featuring typical Costa Rican dishes at reasonable prices. Here you can also find some of the best Costa Rican breakfast dishes in town. Later in the day, try their mixed Ceviche special, their typical Sea Bass special or their hearty Filet Mignon. All at reasonable prices that you can’t beat. Soda Marea Alta is located across from the Platinum Gym and 300 meters south of the Red Cross. Not only is it a great people-watching spot, but it is one of the best typical Costa Rican “sodas” to try out a truly Costa Rican dining experience.
